Important Note for Parents

Uploaded date: 22 June 2012

We have recently come to know that certain students have been resorting to arm twisting tactics with their parents. In order to get whatever they want, these students have been maligning the school / Chairman / Principal/ faculty members, and gullible parents have been taken in by these false stories. We would like to clarify several matters.

  1. Even before the CBSE circular (Acad-04/2012) was issued, our school has made an endeavour to inculcate healthy food habits in our students. We believe that starting at an early age will help to develop a life-long habit. The Montessori and KG students have been given a weekly food chart that is popular among them and their parents. The primary school parents have been informed time and again (through various forums), to avoid sending junk food. At no time have teachers asked/forced students to bring any brand of junk food.
  2. The CBSE has recommended ‘restriction in the use of mobile phones in schools’ from July 2009. ‘Mobile phones can be a serious cause of distraction, lack of concentration, anxiety, fear and sometimes even misuse’.

    1. Although mobile operating systems (such as Android, Symbian, etc) are mentioned as part of the Class 11 Computer Science syllabus, faculty members have never recommended the purchase of any brand of mobile phones.
    2. It has been clearly given on page 8 & 11 of the school almanac that mobile phones are not permitted within the school premises. Students are permitted to use the school office telephone to contact their parents in times of emergency. However, if carrying of a mobile phone is considered a necessity for the security and safety of the student, parents are requested to meet the Chairman / Principal. In case of favourable consideration, the students will be required to deposit the mobile phone in the school office. It is advised that only 'basic models' of mobile phones are given to the students to be deposited.

  3. It would be better to nip rumours and false accusations in the bud, rather than allow them to fester in people's minds, create a wrong impression and ultimately give room for the venting of bitter feelings through public portals. Parents are requested to meet the Chairman/ Principal / counselor / faculty members in order to clarify any doubts.
