Abhinav Anand, a ten-year-old FIDE-rated chess prodigy, is making waves in the world of competitive chess with his impressive classical rating of 1844. A Grade 5 student of National Public School, Indiranagar, Abhinav has earned international recognition, representing India at the 2024 Western Asia Youth Chess Championship in Sri Lanka, where he secured fifth place. Domestically, he has excelled in state-level tournaments, winning the Bangalore Urban District Chess Championship (Under 11) and finishing fourth in the Karnataka State Under 13 Championship. Abhinav has also triumphed in national FIDE-rated events, including first place in the Under 10 section of the 6th Bangalore Open and the Chess Capital Open in Chennai. His recent wins in the 8th SCS Open and YMCA All India Rapid Tournament further solidify his standing as one of India’s brightest young chess players. Recognised as a World Science Scholar, Sindhoora has also received the esteemed Future Port Youth Awards in Prague for her innovative, patented brain age estimation method. Her exceptional work on Parkinson's disease solutions secured her the first place at Codeavour 5.0 in Dubai, further solidifying her reputation as a rising star in the scientific community.
Sindhoora's impressive repertoire of accomplishments include the discovery of a near-Earth object with NASA (2023 OG15), founding Radia, an AI-radiology startup, and securing a bronze medal in the International Mathematical Championship. Shriya Muthukumar from Grade 12 of National Public School, Indiranagar continues to be passionate about contributing positively to the society. She was one of the fifteen outstanding individuals selected from across India to present her work on environmental conservation before the Honourable President of India, Shrimati Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 24 December 2024.
Her project on Mowgli Movement aims to conserve wildlife while providing upliftment to displaced tribal communities. What people may brush off as Utopian or far-fetched has borne fruits because of her tireless efforts.
Furthermore, Shriya earned the distinction of being selected as one of the top five speakers of the event, allowing her to directly address the Honourable President and other esteemed dignitaries whilst sharing her thoughts with them. We are proud of our young change maker and her contribution to make the world a better place!
National Public School, Indiranagar is proud to share the achievements of one of its students, Tejas Sriram of Grade 6, who was selected to participate in the Junior World Science Scholars Programme conducted by the prestigious World Science Festival. As one out of the two students from India selected for the programme, Tejas had the opportunity to join a global community of 24 gifted students who are passionate about Mathematics and Science as he explored Einstein’s general theory of relativity in a six-week-long course. He also had the opportunity to attend lectures and interact with the eminent physicist, Prof. Brian Greene. We congratulate Tejas and wish him the very best for his future endeavours.

Think Maths, think of Samvar Shah, our very own Mathematics wizard of Grade 11 from National Public School, Indiranagar. He has been part of several prestigious mathematics events and has excelled in them with his sheer brilliance.
Here's a sneak peek at some of his achievements. Samvar participated online in the Stanford Mathematics Tournament where 300 teams across the globe vied for the top position in a 12-hour Mathematics challenge consisting of several rounds on various topics ranging from algebra to discrete mathematics to geometry to calculus.
He participated in the individual as well as team rounds. Samvar got the Honourable mention in individual results, Distinguished Honourable mention in team round, and in the overall results Distinguished Honourable Mention for having been placed in the top 10 percent.
Samvar and his team won the first position in the DAIS Hackathon for their project Strategic Sorcerers at the programming hackathon organised by the Dhirubhai Ambani International School, Mumbai .
Around 1000 students from various schools across Bangalore participated in the first round of the ‘TCS InQuizitive’ Quiz competition. Only 8 students from this large pool were selected for the regional round. The strong performance of the boys of Grade 10 from National Public School, Indiranagar, was highlighted - Nishant Jagatap, Aamir Tanveer Kazir , Tejas Nagesh, Avnish Anand Jha and Nithyanth Senthil Kumar.
Nishant Jagatap was the top performer from schools chosen for the second round. He maintained a steady 2nd position throughout most of the regional round but was ultimately placed 3rd after a last-minute tie-breaker, where he was just one point behind. Additionally, Aamir Tanveer Kazi received an audience prize.
The debate team representing the senior category from National Public School, Indiranagar added a feather to their cap with their extraordinary debating skills at the prestigious Jaipur Debate organised by Neerja Modi School, Jaipur, Rajasthan. The 3 day event from 2 August 2024 to 4 August 2024 had our debating wizards battling it out with 22 teams, some of the finest speakers and 4 challenging rounds comprising topics from AI to Sustainable Energy to Feminism. The team NPS INR comprising of Yashasvi Singhvi - Grade 10, Neev Raj Singh-Grade 11, and Nishanth Shankar Lakshmanan - Grade 10 aced the competition. Nishanth Shankar Lakshmanan also won the award for Best Speaker in Round 3.

Sindhoora R of Grade 11 represented National Public School, Indiranagar for the challenging HackHive 24-25 (Inter School Idea Hackathon) organised by New Horizon Council for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship. She developed an AI model for the early diagnosis of Parkinson's disease coupled with a vibro-tactile device for its treatment. She has made us proud by clinching the runners up trophy and a cash prize of ₹ 10,000. Way to go Sindhoora! Congratulations!
Congratulations to N Suryaansh Reddy of Grade 4, National Public School, Indiranagar on an outstanding feat in golf! He emerged triumphant, painting strokes of brilliance across each hole with a masterful display of skill and determination. Suryansh secured the 2nd place amidst the rolling greens of the Tarun Sardesi Golf Academy held at Clover Greens, Hosur in the month of May and July, 2024.
Varish Mamindlapelli demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication in the Men's individual category of the 10-meter air rifle championship. Competing against seasoned athletes, he showcased his marksmanship abilities and achieved recognition for his outstanding performance. His journey from junior to sub-youth in 10-meter air rifle shooting categories underscores his progression and commitment to mastering the sport at different stages of his development. The National Karting Championship for 2024 has begun and Akshat Mishra of National Public School, Indiranagar has made us proud by winning the first round in style. The event took place during the weekend of 8 June 2024 and 9 June 2024.
Akshat was placed second in one heat. He came out in full force to ace the pre final and beat all odds to clinch the final. Congratulations Akshat!
