Parenting workshops aimed at fostering a deep connection between parent and child were organised by National Public School, Indiranagar, on 22 June 2024 (for Grade 3 parents), 29 June 2024 (for Grade 4 parents) and 13 July 2024 (for Grade 5 parents). Eager parents gathered with a shared desire to strengthen their bond with their children.

The day began with an eye-opening quiz about discovering their personal parenting styles, followed by a thrilling obstacle race to encourage healthy communication between the child and the parent. Through somatic exercises to practice ‘Coregulation’ and a ‘Rupture and Repair’ session to help them resolve their issues after conflicts, the parents, and the children both experienced a new dimension of their relationship. Stories were shared, laughter echoed, and tears welled up as participants embraced the challenges and joys of parenthood. Little did they know, that a simple origami session, where the parents observed their wards without interfering, would foster independence and resilience in them.

Every segment of the workshop was followed by a ‘Reflection’ session for them to express their views and emotions. As each parent left with renewed confidence in their ability to nurture a meaningful and lasting connection with their child, our mission was accomplished!
