In Montessori at NPS INR, the Diwali celebrations began a few days before the actual festival. There was much excitement as the terracotta diyas, paints and other craft supplies made their way into the class. The children painted and decorated their diyas. On the last day before the Diwali holidays began, all dressed up in festive Indian attire, participated in the festive celebrations. Their snack box contained an Indian sweet, the name of which they shared with their friends. We spoke about how a safe and green Diwali can be celebrated. The day ended with a lovely game of Snakes and Ladders where the tagline of the game was 'Good Always Wins'. The children took home their diyas, all excited to light them on Diwali night.
